North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU) is situated in a picturesque location of Aalo, an emerging hub of education and the headquarters of West Siang, a hilly and green district of Arunachal Pradesh. NEFTU is the earnest endeavour by a group of visionaries and educationists. It is a State Private University established under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, well versed to facilitate the students with quality education and higher study programs of national and international standards.
NEFTU has been established by Act 11 of 2014 of State Legislature, Arunachal Pradesh, as the first Private Technical University of the State. Arunachal Pradesh is the largest state (area wise) in the North-East region, considered to be the nature’s treasure of trove and home to more than six hundred species of orchids and exquisite blooms which are found in varied elevations and climatic conditions all over the state. Also, His Excellency Governor of Arunachal Pradesh is the Visitor of the University campus whenever he gets some leisure time.

Passed (10+2) Examination with Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry/Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology Biology / Informatics Practices /
Biotechonology / Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture Engineering Graphics/Business Studies / Entrepreneurship.
Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
Passed min.3 years Diploma Examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
(The University will offer suitable bridget courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering drawing, etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to achive desired learning outcomes of the programme)
To promote flexibility in the curriculum framework and interdisciplinary/ multidisciplinary academic mobility of the students across the Higher Education Institutes in the country with appropriate Credit Transfer mechanism in compliance with NEP 2020, UGC has notified the set regulations titled UGC (Establishment and Operationalization of Academic Bank of Credits Scheme in Higher education) Regulations 2021.
To keep the spirit of education high with proper mechanism developed for students’ mobility and credit transfer, NEFTU aims to achieve pinnacle by embracing the credit transfer system defined by ABC.
The university supports the initiative of ABC towards transferability of academic credits between HEIs through a centralized system that recognizes the credits earned and articulates them through a course-to-course credit transfer equivalency. Hence, NEFTU shall have a defined mechanism to scrutinize and assess the credit transfer process based on the guidelines and regulations mentioned by statutory bodies.
This Policy seeks to provide a procedure and outline for recognition of prior learning from previous HEIs (UGC recognized) and courses/subjects, which are found equivalent with (learning objectives, learning outcomes, and course module contents upto a minimum of 70%) programs offered at North East Frontier Technical University.

Academic Bank of Credits" means an academic service mechanism as a digital/virtual/online entity established by University Grants Commission to facilitate students to become its academic accounts holder, thereby paving the way for seamless students& mobility between or within degree granting HEIs through a formal systems of credit recognition, credit accumulation, credit transfer and credit redemption to promote distributed and flexible teaching learning…… leo.
Academic Bank of Credit shall deposit credits awarded by registered HEIs for courses pursued therein, in the Academic Bank Account of the students and the validity of such credits shall be as per the norms and guidelines issued by the UGC from time to time.
Students belonging to eligible Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) can avail the facility of ABC.
Accreditation status of the institutions can be verified from the respective institutions. Usually, such type of information is available on the website of the institutions.
